I'm throwing it back today to a little painting I did called "The Reliables." It's a simple painting depicting a small collection of brushes in sepia. I loved doing these little studies, honoring my a few of my favorite reliable workhorses: three Silver Black Velvet watercolor brushes along with a few cheapo watercolor/acrylic flats, perfect for lifting pigment. This painting is still available. It measures 8" x 8" and comes framed as shown. If you are in the area of Ware, Massachusetts, you can also view and purchase it in person at Workshop 13's "Artworks" Gallery at 69 Main Street. This painting won't be available for shipping until after March 1st. In other news, the Artworks gallery recently changed its exhibits and this month prominently features the beautiful ceramic sculptures of Juliet Bacchas. She will be hosting a reception on Saturday, February 2nd from 5pm - 7pm at the gallery. Hope to see you there!

While I whittle away at my commissions, I thought I would share a new line of prints that I'm rolling out. I had been using an online source for the past year that hadn't really yielded much in the way of sales and I wasn't thrilled about not always knowing the quality of the reproductions, so I decided to do a little homework and offer my own "print-on-demand" service. From now on I'll be working with a local printer and handling the distribution in-house. I researched three different frame styles and decided on the following three to compliment the various paintings while allowing some flexibility to customers hoping to match their varying home decor. Each giclee will be printed on fine art paper and each order will be framed under non-glare acrylic glazing that is more lightweight than traditional glass and is easier to ship. At this time each print is only offered in its original size. Because every order will be printed upon demand and custom framed, please allow a few weeks for shipping. I think these prints are a high-quality, lovely way to introduce fine art into your home at a fraction of the cost of an original painting. I also have smaller, less expensive options available as well. To view all my available prints to date, please visit my print page under "shop" or click here. Thank you for indulging me in my shameless self-promotion . . . and ya'll have a great day!
I hope you had a restful weekend and take a little time today to reflect on all that is good and how we can all make things better through little acts of kindness. We're all in this together.
Cheers! Halloooo! I have two new paintings up for sale. My plan for 2019 is to complete & post 1 small painting per week. I'm trying to get into my new groove, so bear with me.
Thus far I've completed these two. They are both 6" x 6" - watercolor on clayboard. I am presently awaiting their frames so these prices reflect each painting in a slim black floater frame. If you click the shop button you can get a closer look and see what they look like framed. If you order now, you'll have them by Valentine's Day . . . I'll let you know when they're ready to ship. In other news, I'm working on a couple of commissions that I'll be able to share next month and I also have some small works and a couple large ones going as well. It's a joy to be so busy! Have a great day!
Happy New Year! I love this time of year . . . so many goals to plan and lots of hope for the new year. I'm sharing a few of my 2018 sales (above). I'm excited to get painting and posting, and have lots of new paintings planned for this year. One of my goals is to paint more small work in between larger paintings. Ideally I'd like to have one new one per week but I don't know if that's doable. We shall see. So far I've met my goal -- here's my first new one:
I am such a lucky gal to have so many wonderful collectors and customers! I'm thankful for all who came out last weekend to support me at my Holiday Open Studio. I may sound like a broken record, but it's because of you all that I can do what I do . . . so thank you.
I haven't been working on any new paintings as I've been filling orders and working on commissions, however I have to get a few new paintings finished in the next week for a show so I'll be posting my progress. Stay tuned. In the meantime, I'll leave you with this "new" old painting, "Tina's Lamp." I painted this one quite a while ago . . . it's a watercolor on paper . . . but I framed it right before my Open Studio. It is now for sale on my site. I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season. It's here, can you believe it!? It's that wondrous time of year and to kick it all off I'm hosting my annual Holiday Open Studio. On Saturday, my dear friend and new assistant, Christine, will be helping me out in the afternoon as I have another commitment to attend. Chris is a delight, so come and say "hello." And don't forget there's always hot cocoa, snacks and a door prize! Come enter to win a reproduction giclee of "Christmas Pewter" (image below). We hope to see you this weekend . . . Saturday and Sunday -- Dec. 1st and 2nd -- 10am - 5pm. 374 Wickaboag Valley Road, West Brookfield, MA. If you're in the Northeast, don't let the crazy snow get you down. Esmeralda isn't. She and Buddy are thinking about warmer days and time spent at the beach . . . but for now, they'll have to settle for the bathtub.
Keep warm and snuggly my friends! |
