Flower Arranging and Painting
Kara K. Fine Art and Blair House Blooms are teaming up to offer a flower arranging workshop with a painting component. Sign up for just the flower arranging or bundle your registration to include the painting workshop where we will photograph and paint your arrangement.
Flower arranging, Saturday - June 14th, 10 am - 11:30: Talented flower farmer/florist, Robyn Scott will guide you in arranging a lovely bouquet of her locally grown, organic blooms to take home and enjoy. Learn and apply simple design principles and color theory that will make your bouquets sing! (Please know that arrangements may differ from the displayed photo based on available blooms.)
Painting: Stay a little longer to gain some insight into the next weekend's 5-hour painting workshop (9am - 2:30pm) and obtain tips on planning and photographing your arrangement. Watercolorist and gallery owner, Kara Bigda will help you develop your personal style. Choose to create a study of one or two blooms or tackle a whole arrangement, it's entirely up to you! Discuss your plans and receive your short "homework" assignment for the next class.
8" x 10" clay panels, palettes and some basic pigments & brushes will be provided, however students are encouraged to bring any specialty pigments or other supplies they may have. A list will be provided.
